After visiting Molde and its stadium, we took the ferry from Molde to Vestnes. The crossing itself already sets the mood. Fjord views, fresh air, and that typical Norwegian calm. Once we arrived in Vestnes, we drove straight to Vestnes Fjordhotel and parked the car right outside.

Check in was quick. The staff member at reception was very shy and not very confident in English, but everything was clear and correct. We received all the necessary information and our room key without any issues. That matters more than perfect small talk.

However, the kitchenette was only partly usable. Only one gas burner worked. That limits cooking options quite a bit. If you plan to cook full meals, this is something to keep in mind. For basic heating or simple dishes, it works.

Behind the living area was the bedroom. There was one double bed. We had hoped for two separate beds, but that was not available in our room. A second flat screen television was mounted in the bedroom, which felt surprisingly modern.

The bathroom had a large shower cabin, sink, and private toilet. Everything was clean and functional. No luxury details, but solid and practical.

We took a little beer as well here.

Breakfast at Vestnes Fjordhotel

Breakfast at the Fjordhotel was comfortable and tasty, but standard. Expect bread, spreads, cold cuts, yogurt, and basic hot options. Nothing extravagant, but absolutely fine.

There was a Pelican Rouge coffee machine. That was probably the weakest part of breakfast for us. The coffee was acceptable, but not memorable. Still, the overall breakfast experience was pleasant and enough to start a day of driving through Norway.

If you arrive outside opening hours, a digital key solution is provided. That works very well for road trippers arriving late from the ferry. The system is practical and fits the Norwegian self service mindset.
