Restaurant Zeebinkie review, this evening in Burgh Haamstede started on Valentine’s Day at Hogeweg 42B, 4328 PG Burgh Haamstede, on the island of Schouwen Duiveland in Zeeland. We reserved a table for 17:00 and arrived at a completely empty restaurant, something that felt calm and promising at first.
Restaurant Zeebinkie is located next to Landal Hof van Haamstede and focuses mainly on meat and fish dishes in an open kitchen setting. The concept is simple and affordable dining with around twenty main dishes, often promoted as budget friendly options. Opening hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 17:00 until 21:00. Online ratings currently show around 4.0 on Google, 4.1 on Facebook and 3.5 on TripAdvisor, though these scores reflect many years of history since Restaurant Zeebinkie has been around for a long time. The website was built in collaboration with PEKICT, who developed the current online presence. To make the Restaurant Zeebinkie review full, I’ll just write this information as well.

Valentine’s Day Experience at Restaurant Zeebinkie
Let’s start my Restaurant Zeebinkie review; We were allowed to choose one of the two available two person tables, and my girlfriend picked the one by the window, which was a great choice. The interior style is warm, rustic and cozy, with brick walls, wooden beams and an inviting atmosphere.
However, the first thing we noticed on the table was the QR code. At Restaurant Zeebinkie, ordering food must be done through a QR system. While a physical menu is still provided, the prices and items differ slightly from what appears online through the QR system. Drinks could still be ordered with staff, which thankfully arrived quickly. Everything else had to be placed digitally.

What We Ordered at Restaurant Zeebinkie
We ordered:
- Steak in mushroom sauce
- Mixed Grill XL, which includes two extra pieces of meat
For drinks:
- Wittekerke Rosé from Brouwerij De Brabandere
- Bavaria Pilsener
- Later a Cuba Libre

While waiting, the restaurant slowly filled up, mainly with German visitors, a few Belgian guests and of course Dutch diners. The atmosphere became lively but remained pleasant.
Food Quality at Restaurant Zeebinkie
The presentation looked good. Plates were neatly arranged and visually appealing. Unfortunately, the taste did not match the presentation.
The first bite of chicken from the Mixed Grill XL was excellent. It was tender, flavorful and juicy. I genuinely enjoyed that moment. The fries were also solid and well prepared.
After that, the experience declined quickly and that’s mainly why to read this Restaurant Zeebinkie review, to check if this restaurant is made for you.

The rest of the meat was extremely tough, chewy and lacking flavor. Considering that Restaurant Zeebinkie focuses heavily on meat dishes, this was disappointing. My girlfriend ordered steak medium, but it arrived completely well done and very dry. The same applied to my meat, which had also been requested medium and tender.
It raises the question whether the cooking instructions entered through the QR system are properly communicated to the kitchen.

For a restaurant positioning itself strongly around meat and grill dishes, this inconsistency is hard to overlook.
Menu Overview at Restaurant Zeebinkie

Meat and Grill Dishes
Restaurant Zeebinkie offers options such as:
- Mixed Grill XL
- Spareribs
- Schnitzel
- Steak
- Varkenshaas medallions
- Burgers
The focus is clearly on meat.
Fish and Seafood
You can also find:
- Tongfilet
- Gamba’s
- Zeebaars
- Kibbeling
- Mossels
This makes Restaurant Zeebinkie attractive for seafood lovers visiting Zeeland.
Social Deal Option
At the time of our visit, a Social Deal promotion was active offering a four course schnitzel dinner at a strong discount. We were unaware of this deal during our reservation, which is unfortunate because financially it might have been an interesting alternative. For guests specifically looking for value, this deal can make Restaurant Zeebinkie more attractive.
Pricing and Value
One strong point of Restaurant Zeebinkie is pricing. For two people, including drinks, we spent under 50 euro. That is increasingly rare in today’s restaurant landscape.
However, because the meat quality did not meet expectations, the value proposition becomes questionable. Cheap pricing works best when consistency in cooking is guaranteed.
Dessert options mainly consist of soft serve ice cream coupes, which felt limited compared to the rest of the menu.
Atmosphere at Restaurant Zeebinkie
The atmosphere is genuinely good. The interior is stylish, warm and welcoming. The setting near the dunes of Schouwen Duiveland adds charm, especially for tourists staying nearby. Service was friendly and drinks were served quickly. Ambiance is not the issue here.

Pros and Cons Restaurant Zeebinkie review
Pros
Affordable pricing for Zeeland standards.

Good first impression chicken and fries.
Quick drink service.
Cons
Tough and overcooked meat.

Mismatch between physical menu and digital system.
Limited dessert variety.
Final Thoughts on Restaurant Zeebinkie
Restaurant Zeebinkie review wise, this was a mixed experience. The setting and pricing are strong. The concept is accessible and tourist friendly. But for a restaurant that focuses heavily on meat and grill dishes, execution matters most.
The potential is there. The ambiance works. The prices are attractive. But consistency in cooking needs improvement for Restaurant Zeebinkie to fully live up to expectations.
Would I return? Possibly for atmosphere and value, but only if meat quality improves. Maybe I’ll just try their great chicken meals and write a new Restaurant Zeebinkie review about this experience.
