If you are visiting Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome, you are stepping into a completely different climate and atmosphere the moment you walk inside.
We ended up visiting Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome while waiting for our friends from AMFvlogs. Our Aqua Mundo swim tickets were apparently activated from 13:00 in the afternoon, something we did not even know was possible. Slightly confusing. Luckily, our park tags worked perfectly for Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome, so instead of waiting around, we entered the tropical world inside the dome.
First Impression, Bats and Tropical Heat
When you enter Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome, you walk through a hall where bats are resting above you. They hang upside down under a shelter in a dome that maintains temperatures of over 30°C. That warm climate mimics tropical conditions and is ideal for many bat species that naturally live in warm regions.
Bats normally sleep during the day and are active at night. They hang upside down because it allows them to take off quickly and safely. Their claws lock into position without using energy, meaning they can hang for hours without effort. In a controlled indoor environment like Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome, temperature, humidity and light exposure are carefully managed. If done properly, this type of habitat can replicate natural conditions and provide a safe environment with consistent food supply and protection from predators.
It is honestly a fascinating start to your visit.
A 2500 m2 Indoor Jungle Paradise
Further inside Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome, you enter what feels like a tropical paradise. This is not just a playground. It is an indoor jungle filled with over 250 exotic plants and around 40 animal species. You walk across hanging rope bridges, pass small waterfalls and hear the constant sound of flowing water.
Children can climb, explore and slide for hours. There are climbing forests, slides, water streams and hidden corners everywhere. There used to be pottery activities where you could create your own items, paid separately as an extra experience. Even without that, Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome offers more than enough to keep families busy for a long time.
It is one of those places where kids disappear into adventure mode within seconds.
Food, Drinks and Relaxed Breaks
Inside Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome you can grab drinks and small snacks. It is ideal to quickly get something without leaving the tropical environment. I cannot list every item available, but small snacks like grilled sandwiches and simple bites are typically offered. Drinks are easy to get and convenient while supervising children.
The best part is that you never really leave the atmosphere. You stay in the jungle setting, surrounded by plants and wooden structures.
Sleeping in the Jungle, The Jungle Cabana Experience
One of the most interesting features of Center Parcs Het Heijderbos Jungle Dome is the possibility to stay overnight in a Jungle Cabana. These themed cabins are located at the edge of the dome itself. It is more of a back to basic experience, combined with tropical adventure. Sanitary facilities are shared, but you wake up right next to the jungle environment.
For families with adventurous kids, this is next level. Imagine waking up inside a tropical dome in Limburg. It is unique, educational and memorable. It feels like a mini expedition without leaving the Netherlands.

Center Parcs Het Heijderbos VIP cottage 978 is a renovated 4 person VIP cottage located in the forest of Heijen, The Netherlands. The cottage immediately stands out because of its natural stone finishes, luxury bathroom, fireplace, and upgraded interior design.
