Five Guys Netherlands had been on my bucket list for years, and after the Pokémon GO Tour Kalos Global event in Rotterdam, it was finally time. Together with two friends, we decided to celebrate the day with dinner at Five Guys Rotterdam. I had once seen this American fast food chain in The Hague after dinner somewhere else, and ever since, I knew I wanted to try Five Guys Netherlands myself.

Walking into Five Guys Rotterdam, the first thing we noticed was the ordering setup. There were only two ordering kiosks available, which felt surprisingly limited for such a prominent location in central Rotterdam. Luckily, there was also a large “Order Here” sign above the counter.
We initially stood in line at the counter but quickly spotted the kiosks. In the end, we chose to order at the screens because it gave us a calmer overview of the menu. Three burgers, three drinks, and three fries, two large and one little, came out at €76.80. That puts Five Guys Netherlands firmly in a premium fast food price category. This is not cheap fast food. This is closer to casual dining pricing, but with fast food speed.
Dine In, But With Bags
One detail stood out. We selected “Dine In” during ordering, yet we received two large paper bags filled with burgers and fries, plus three separate cups. We were asked if we needed the cups, which felt slightly odd. I am not going to hang under the self serve soda machine.
That said, the unlimited refill system is genuinely ideal. At Five Guys Netherlands, unlimited refills are clearly advertised at the counter and on the kiosks. You grab your cup and refill as much as you want. For a long evening after a Pokémon GO Tour Kalos Global event, that is honestly a luxury.
The Burgers, Messy But Juicy
The burger itself was good. Very good.
It was messy, structurally chaotic, and clearly assembled fast. But it was juicy and full of flavor. The meat tasted fresh, and the toppings were generous. Five Guys Netherlands does not hold back on ingredients.

We ordered two large fries and one little fries. That was an overdose. The portion sizes at Five Guys Netherlands are no joke. The large fries are almost borderline food waste level if you are not extremely hungry. At the same time, you absolutely get value for your money.
The fries were fantastic. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and clearly fresh cut. My two friends went with Cajun style, which adds a spicy kick. I chose the regular fries, which were perfectly salted and classic.
