Menu Pizzeria & Grill Kruså was one of those unexpected places you don’t plan, but never forget. Located right at the Danish German border in Kruså, this pizzeria became a memorable stop for us during multiple road trips toward Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Even now, years later, it still sticks with us as a simple, honest, and surprisingly good place to eat.
A Familiar Stop on the Way North
Our first visit to Menu Pizzeria & Grill Kruså was in 2021. We were driving north through Denmark, heading toward Sweden, Finland, and eventually Norway. We had been in Kruså before, noticed the pizzeria along the road, and decided to grab takeaway pizza. That first experience was genuinely good, so good that it stayed in our heads.
In 2022, during another northern road trip, we decided to stop again. This time not just for takeaway, but for a proper lunch break. We sat down on the terrace, enjoying the calm border village vibe, until a very persistent wasp decided it owned the table. After several attempts to ignore it, we moved inside and continued our lunch there.
Service, Atmosphere, and an Honest Experience
The service at Menu Pizzeria & Grill Kruså was solid both times. Friendly, polite, welcoming, and genuinely kind people. The food was prepared well, portions were generous, and the pizzas tasted exactly how you want them to taste on a long road trip, comforting and filling.
That said, the atmosphere inside was a bit awkward. Both visits, the restaurant was completely empty except for us. No background music, no ambient noise. The staff and owners were mostly on their phones, calling or playing games behind the counter. It created a slightly uncomfortable silence, even though the people themselves were very nice and clearly skilled cooks.
Despite that, the friendliness and food quality easily made up for it. We enjoyed both visits at Menu Pizzeria & Grill Kruså and would absolutely have gone back again.
A Quiet Location Near the Border
Menu Pizzeria & Grill Kruså was located at Flensborgvej 1A, right near the Danish German border. It was an easy stop if you were traveling north or south, and especially convenient if you stayed nearby.
It was also located very close to Kollund Rooms, where we stayed overnight in 2021. That made it an ideal dinner or lunch spot if you didn’t want to drive far after a long day on the road.
Reviews and Public Opinion
Online reviews generally reflected what we experienced ourselves. Many visitors mentioned friendly staff, large menus, and good value for money. Some reviews pointed out the quiet atmosphere and lack of music, while others praised the pizzas and grill dishes for being better than expected for a border town takeaway style restaurant.

That’s a real shame, because it was one of those places that fit perfectly into long Scandinavian road journeys. Simple food, friendly people, and a practical location right where you needed it.
