Le Coffee Ride is a place that perfectly blends specialty coffee, outdoor culture and the relaxed rhythm of the Belgian Ardennes in the village of Stavelot. Le Coffee Ride caught our attention earlier while driving through the region, and this time we decided to stop and see what made this place so popular. What followed was an experience that felt slightly outside our comfort zone at first, yet ended up being genuinely enjoyable and memorable. We just checked out of the Airbnb Caravan we rented in Aywaille, so we needed a place to take a coffee.
First Arrival at Le Coffee Ride
Le Coffee Ride is clearly designed as a hub for cyclists and motorcyclists, and that becomes obvious the moment you arrive. Bikes everywhere, riders chatting over coffee, and a strong community vibe. Even though we arrived by car, a Mitsubishi Outlander, we were welcomed just as easily. The contrast felt a bit awkward at first, sitting between all the cyclists, but that feeling quickly faded.
The atmosphere inside Le Coffee Ride is modern, calm and functional, with a clear focus on people who enjoy being active outdoors. The café space flows naturally into the retail and lifestyle concept, making it feel more like a headquarters than a standard coffee bar.
Coffee, Cappuccino and Cake
Le Coffee Ride takes coffee seriously. We ordered a coffee, a cappuccino, and a piece of cake. Everything tasted excellent. The coffee was smooth and well balanced, and the cappuccino had a rich, creamy texture that clearly showed attention to quality. The cake was fresh and paired perfectly with the drinks.
One thing worth mentioning is that during August, the sweetness attracts a lot of wasps. It is simply part of the season in this region. While it can be slightly distracting, it did not ruin the experience. It actually added to the feeling of being outdoors and connected to the environment.
Ordering and Table Service
When we walked in, we were not entirely sure how service worked. We ordered inside at the counter, and luckily there is table service. That made the experience much more relaxed. After ordering, we could sit down and enjoy the atmosphere without having to worry about anything else.
The staff were friendly, calm and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, and the service matched the laid back character of Le Coffee Ride perfectly.
Facilities and the Restroom Experience
A practical detail that is worth mentioning is the restroom. We were able to use the toilet, which appears to be located under the hotel section of the building. However, getting there involved quite a long walk. The restroom is located deep in the basement, and the route feels longer than expected.
It is not a dealbreaker, but it is something to keep in mind. The space itself was fine, but the distance made it a bit of an unexpected mini adventure inside the building.
More Than Just a Café

The location combines specialty coffee, cakes, breakfast and lunch options with an apparel and lifestyle space. Feeling Welcome Despite the Awkwardness
Even though we initially felt slightly out of place among all the cyclists, we genuinely felt good during our stay. The atmosphere is open, friendly and inclusive. Le Coffee Ride does not make you feel like an outsider if you are not part of the cycling scene.
By the time we finished our drinks, that initial awkward feeling had completely disappeared. We enjoyed ourselves, relaxed, and felt comfortable just being there.
Final Thoughts on Le Coffee Ride
Le Coffee Ride turned out to be a top spot. Great coffee, a delicious cappuccino, tasty cake, friendly service and a unique atmosphere make it a place we would absolutely recommend. Despite the wasps in August and the long walk to the restroom, the overall experience was very positive.
